Individually-tailored support with 1-to-1 tuition

I have a very limited number of 1-to-1 tuition slots where I offer individual Maths help with regular, hour-long, weekly lessons for students from Year 9 up to A-level. Mature students doing GCSE resits, Functional Maths or other Level 1/2 qualifications are also welcome.

My rates for academic year 2024/25 are as follows:

  • 1-to-1 tuition up to GCSE level (or other Level 1/2 qualification, e.g. Functional Maths or the QTS Skills Tests): £45 per hour
  • 1-to-1 tuition up to A-level (or other Level 3 qualification): £55 per hour

I’m usually full up but can add you to my waiting list so that you’re the first to hear when I do have availability, either a cancellation or a regular slot.

The slots I am teaching in academic year 2024/25 are Mon-Thurs 16:10 and 17:20, plus a handful of slots during school hours. I am happy to offer lessons either during term time only, or in (most) school holiday periods too… but if you require weekend tuition or a slot later in the evening then I won’t be able to help you.

All tuition is online; I use Skype in conjunction with an online whiteboard called BitPaper, which we use like a virtual exercise book. I’m based in Hall Green (B28), Birmingham, and the majority of my clients are fairly local, but your location – as long as you have a reliable Internet connection – is immaterial.

Summary of terms & conditions

The first 1-to-1 lesson is normally offered as a trial on a PAYG basis (paid in advance). After that, lesson fees are due monthly in advance by bank transfer or standing order, and I require two paid lessons’ notice of termination. I require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation (to give me the chance to offer the slot to someone else), otherwise the lesson is chargeable in full. Frequent cancellations may result in your slot being offered to someone else. Of course, if I have to a cancel a lesson then I will either reschedule to a mutually convenient time or not charge for the cancelled lesson.
